Hollywood's glamourest night is coming up and everyone is excited to see who and what the stars are wearing. Unfortunately ABC is unable to profit from this annual event as it has in the past. This can be attributed to the failing economy coupled with the lack of quality amongst this year's nominations. This has forced ABC to change its advertising rules and allow movie studios to promote films and reduce ad spot prices.

At the same time, the Oscars still seemed to be a huge budget spend! All of the decorations and the red carpet dresses...
To be honest, I didn't notice a difference in the ads, but that's probably because I never normally watch the oscars in full...
What did you think?
I didn't really see a difference in the advertising during the Oscar either. In fact I didn't know that some companies make ads for the Oscars. The Oscars are really long so I don't usually just sit and watch the Oscars. I'm usually doing something else while watching the Oscars so during the commercials I don't pay attention very much to the tv.
